- County Business Patterns 1986-1999
- Because the data is released in overlapping years, you needn't install every single disk; we did 86-87, 88-89, 90-91, 92-93, 94-95, 96-97, 98-99
- 86-87 doesn't have software on it, but you can use the copy of Extract on the 1992 Economic Census 1J disk and get the auxiliary files from http://www.census.gov/epcd/www/extract.html#CBP
- You need separate auxilary files directories for each disk.
- You have to follow the special install instructions in Winnt; see above
- 1986-1993 had to have a separate version of Ex.bat; we have two whole extract folders: extact and cbpextract; from 1994, you must use the standard ex.bat as the other one will not work
- From 1988-1993, there are 2 software packages: Go & Extract; from 1994, there are *3* software packages per disk: GO, Extract and the Windows software
- If you are using VirtualCD & using the built-in shortcut function, you must make multiple images for each software package as each image can only have 1 shortcut.

- If you install on a system that also has security software installed, make sure that the Econ97/Help directory (most likely C:\Program Files\Econ97\Help) is readable and writeable, plus the file Ehtd32.ini. On Windows NT 4.0, it installed to C:\Winnt\Ehtd32.ini.
- There is a built-in problem with the software that doesn't appear to relate to permissions, as it appears even on computers with full access privileges to all files. Namely, the link to "Frequently Asked Questions" on the program main screen generates an error if you try to use any other part of the help file. Weirdly, this doesn't apply if you start from the Help Menu on the program screen and then pick Frequently Asked Questions.

- Each disk works independently; there's nothing to install; just point to a web page; we're pointing to "someng.htm" on each disk.
- To view the images properly, be sure to install a .tif viewer; AlternaTIFF is free and does the job.

- During install, the UNBIS Current CD implies that the backfiles can also be installed simultaneously. However, this doesn't appear to work, so you'll have to have two installations; one for the Current and one for the backfile.

- Dropped from second iteration of CD workstations for these reasons:
- some implementations of Beyond 20/20 will conflict with each other and this is the case for WISTAT and USA Trade,
- USA Trade is ceased and we circulate it anyway,
- neither is true of WISTAT and
- excluding conflicts, the interface is awkward and would require too much hacking on our part.

- This disc also contains a program called Africa Briefings. The information in the disc insert says it uses Excel 97 for various functions. It may not work with viewer software only.
