About: World Bank Africa Database. International Bank for Reconstruction and Development/World Bank
Contents: This database on Africa contains almost 1200 indicators of macroeconomic, sectoral, and social data for 53 African countries and 20 country groups. It provides time-series from 1965. The CD-ROM also contains Africa Briefings that provide preformatted display and analysis of selected indicators for countries and country groups.
Note: This database uses the same software as World Development Indicators (WDI), so the same user instructions can be used for this database as were used for WDI.

When you start the program, the first screen you will see will look like this, except that the boxes will be empty. Next |

Next, choose the countries, series and years that you want:
  1. Select the item(s)
  2. Click "OK" to get back to the Query Screen.

Viewing Tables:

Click Show Data button (see above). Once the data is up, you may restrict by rows, columns and values and do limited statistical analysis. You will probably want to reformat the default results screen to make an easier to read results screen.
