GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS -- INTO THE NEW MILLENIUM!

In this last year of the twentieth century, join fellow government documents staff from across Minnesota and South Dakota in looking at how we provide patrons and ourselves with depository information.

Tentative Agenda

This year's forum covers a wide variety of topics. On Thursday, Mark McCullough and Mary Nere of Minnesota State University, Mankato will show off their new display web site, and Mary Sue Lovett and Don Bezanso of St. Olaf College will discuss some of their wonderful displays. Discussion time will follow their presentation so come prepared to discuss what displays have worked for you! Also joining us on Thursday is Nan Myers from Wichita State University. Nan is the developer of the Documents Data Miner and she will be speaking on its use in depository libraries. For the final program on Thursday, learn about Census 2000 and its implications for depository libraries from Anne Mackereth, MN/DOT Library.

Friday’s program will include the usual depository updates and reports from the April Depository Council meeting as well as a discussion on Marcive. With several Minnesota libraries beginning their Marcive subscriptions, here's a chance to ask questions of libraries already part of Marcive.

St. John’s University will be hosting this year’s forum. Directions to the University and hotel information are available at http://employees.csbsju.edu/KCLARK/Forum/directions.html. A buffet lunch, with vegetarian options, will be served in the University’s Great Hall. For those with a bent for beautiful walks, the St. John’s woods are filled with well-groomed trails. Maps will be provided for those wanting to venture out after the forum. I personally recommend the Chapel Walk!
