1:00Defining the Future of the FDLP in Minnesota and South Dakota

Many changes have occurred in the Minnesota/South Dakota region with regards to the FDLP. Several depositories have dropped status. Staffing and resource changes at many libraries are recreating how government information service is provided. These points, combined with the current economic situation, make it imperative to re-define what the FDLP means for our region and how it fits into changes occurring at the national level. Some things we will be discussing will include:

  • National discussions - The upcoming Depository Library Council meeting will be looking at the roles of regionals and the regional/selectives relationship. In addition, the future appointment of a new Public Printer and Superintendent of Documents, as well as changes in transparency and information delivery within the Obama administration, will affect how GPO and the FDLP move forward.
  • Defining the role of the regional and the future needs of selectives
  • Redefining how we do things such as communication, education/outreach, and networking
  • Other topics as determined and as time allows
2:15Break - Cookies/Juice provided
2:30Continuation of Defining the Future discussion
4:00Meeting adjourns
