The 1880 Census Schedules microfilm collection may be requested from the Minnesota Population Center for use in the Library at no charge, but this microfilm is not available for inter-library loan.

Note: the Government Publications Library owns a separate set of microfilm of the Minnesota schedules, so those will continue to be available in the Library. That collection includes reels 615-638, and is filed as Mfilm 33 1880 Minn.

To request 1880 census microfilm, please

• Identify the reels you need; see Federal population censuses, 1790-1890.
• Submit a request for the reels you need, using the request form.
  
  

Requests will be filled on the following schedule:

• Requests received via the form by 5 p.m. weekdays will be at the Business and Government Information Desk by the next weekday, unless you request a later date.
• For weekend use, requests must be received by 5 p.m. on Thursday.
• Microfilm will be held for 48 hours at the Business and Government Information Desk.
